Cuppy Takes Africa! Announces Continent-wide Eight-city Tour
Following the release of her latest
compilation 'House Of Cuppy II', Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, aka DJ
Cuppy, is set to kick off an eight-city continent wide tour across Africa. Titled 'Cuppy Takes Africa', the ambitious tour will kick off in Nigeria in August before travelling through eight countries with a final stop in South Africa.
"Exploring Africa and its rich and diverse
culture has always been a dream of mine," Cuppy said at Wednesday's
press conference in Lagos. "I am so excited about discovering the music and the people, and soaking up the whole experience," she added.
The
celebrated DJ has a slew of high profile performances under her belt,
including the 2014 Financial Times Summit and MTV Africa Music Awards,
and is passionate about the education of Africa's
future leaders. In partnership with the Dangote Foundation, she will be
giving charitable support to girls' schools and NGOs in every country
she visits on the tour.
Cuppy said: "One of the aims of the tour is to promote female empowerment in Africa. The message I want to get across to young girls is that whatever their calling in life, they can aspire to it."

Takes Africa is proudly sponsored by GTBank and will include
performances, major artiste collaborations, press ops, and charitable
engagements. After the opening night in Lagos, Cuppy will continue through Senegal, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, and South Africa.
"I hope the next few weeks are as exciting and enriching for those we meet as they will undoubtedly be for us," she said.

six-year career has seen her play at high profile events in major
cities all over the world. In 2014 she entertained global diplomats and
international representatives at the Financial Times Luxury Summit in Mexico City as well as an elite crowd at Tatler Magazine and Christie's Inc. Arts Ball in London. Most recently, Cuppy headlined the Oil Baron's Charity Ball in Dubai, where she entertained more than 3,000 guests.
In June 2014 Cuppy was announced as the resident DJ at the MTV Africa Music Awards in Durban - a landmark moment in her career that secured her place in the African music scene.

in 2014 Cuppy was appointed official Nigerian Tourism Ambassador by the
Minister of Culture and Tourism. Alongside this role she is a brand
advocate for the 'Fascinating Nigeria' campaign, aimed at promoting
tourism to the country.
Her second mixtape, 'House of Cuppy Volume II', was released in June 2015,
and follows the original House of Cuppy compilation, released in 2014,
which accumulated more than 9,000 downloads and 50,000 listens.
Cuppy resides in New York, where she is studying for a Masters of Arts in Music Business at NYU
having completed a Bachelor's degree in Business and Finance at King's
College London in 2014. She is currently interning at the Roc Nation
headquarters.
