FIFTH HARMONY WINS FAVORITE GROUP AT
2016 PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS
(January 7, 2015) – After a banner 2015, FIFTH HARMONY
kicked off 2016 with a huge win last night, taking home their
first-ever People’s Choice Award for Favorite Group. Fifth Harmony’s
loyal Harmonizers took to the People’s
Choice Award polls, rallying their support and taking over the
impressive category with their votes. Ally, Normani, Lauren, Camila and
Dinah-Jane have been hard at work in the studio, preparing for their
highly-anticipated follow-up album, to be released
sometime this year via Syco/Epic Records.
2015 was a breakout year for
pop power group Fifth Harmony following the release of their first
album, “Reflection,” which debuted at #5 on the
Billboard Top 200 and includes two platinum records, “BO$$” and
“Sledgehammer” in addition to the multi-platinum success of the single,
“Worth It”. The track, featuring Kid Ink, soared to number 12 on
Billboard’s Hot 100, catapulted to number 5 at Top 50 Radio and
sold over 3 million copies worldwide, making it the group’s best single
to date. This past August, “Worth It” was certified multi-platinum,
then becoming only
the 7th release by any artist in 2015
to reach multi-platinum status. Most recently named Billboard’s Women
in Music’s Group of the Year, their latest success follows an
award-winning
2015, with honors at the MTV VMAs, MTV EMAs, MTV Fandom Awards, Teen
Choice Awards, Kids’ Choice Awards, YouTube Music Awards and Radio
Disney Music Awards.
