Toronto: The Phoenix
Concert Theatre will be host to an evening of live music, featuring the talents
of dozens of celebrated artists that are loaning their talents to the Unison Benevolent Fund.
THE UNISON JAM will feature live performances by Finger Eleven, I Mother Earth, Kim
Mitchell, K-OS, Jason McCoy, The Trews, Matthew Good, Madison Violet and
Tomi Swick, with additional surprise guests to be announced.
This “ONE NIGHT ONLY” event will feature very
special performances and collaborations throughout the evening. A few of the scheduled highlights include:
Kim Mitchell and The Trews performing each others hits; I Mother Earth and
Jason McCoy playing some “full metal country,” and Matthew Good performing two
acoustic songs. The event will be
hosted by Tom Wilson, with special DJ support from Eon Sinclair of Bedouin
Soundclash and K-OS.
The Unison Jam will also feature unique and
musical items for raffle and auction, including a trip to Dublin, Ireland,
courtesy of event sponsor Jameson.
The UNISON BENEVOLENT
FUND is a non-profit charity that provides counseling and emergency relief
services to the Canadian music community, assisting professional music makers
in times of hardship, illness or economic difficulties. Included
in the evening will be a special announcement of a new program to provide
financial support to Canadian Music Makers in times of crisis.
Unison co-founder Jodie Ferneyhough says; “The momentum over the last few months has
been astounding. The incredible response and support we have received for
Unison tells us we have tapped into something this community truly wants: A
system that will support our colleagues in crisis. I know that the announcement
at UNISON JAM is going to bring us so much closer to creating that safety net.”
Lead singer of I Mother Earth, Bryan Byrne
says, “We all know musicians that have
fallen on hard times. The Unison
Benevolent Fund offers important support to our friends when they need it. I Mother Earth are happy to not only play
this event, but keep Unison at the forefront because this is a critical safety
net for musicians and music makers.
All proceeds from the Unison Jam will go to the
Unison Benevolent Fund. The event is
sponsored by Jameson and Canadian Musician.
