Underworld's Frankie Knuckles Tribute "Baby Wants To Ride"
named first #1 Single by the UK's new Official Vinyl Chart
Ahead of Underworld’s return to the iconic Hollywood Bowl on June 21, 2015 for a special performance in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their album dubnobasswithmyheadman and as part of KCRW’s World Festival series, Underworld are pleased to offer an exclusive 7 day pre-sale to secure tickets ahead of General Sale on May 3rd.
dubnobasswithmyheadman
was hailed as a game changer on release at the start of 1994. Two
decades on, it is unarguably one of the most influential British
electronic records of all time – a signpost for everything from dance
music’s easy relationship with festival main stages, to the radio and
globe-conquering EDM phenomenon.
Underworld's performance will feature tracks from the album along with their landmark hits. Support acts on the night include Jungle, returning to the US hot on the heels of their acclaimed Coachella show earlier this month.
Tickets go on sale to the public on May 3rd, but fans can gain access to the exclusive pre-sale starting April 24th by signing up for Underworld's mailing list HERE.
The show was launched at London's renowned Royal Festival Hall last year to much acclaim

In honor of Record Store Day last week and in response to soaring sales numbers for vinyl over the last few years, the UK’s OfficialCharts.com announced the launch of the UK’s first ever weekly Official Vinyl Charts. There are separate charts for albums and singles, and Underworld’s recent cover of Frankie Knuckles’ “Baby Wants To Ride” with Heller & Farley and The Misterons has been named the first ever #1 vinyl single. This vinyl-only release was put out in honor of the one year anniversary of Frankie Knuckles’ passing, and all proceeds went to the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
"We’re honoured to be number one in the UK's first official vinyl singles chart. Vinyl has always been a hugely important part of what we do as Underworld. We started out selling 12”s of our records from the back of a car; it's still our format of choice when buying music and it’s fantastic that it's undergoing such a resurgence. This record came about purely as a tribute to the late, very great Frankie Knuckles and the chart recognition is a fitting tribute to his legacy. All proceeds go to the Frankie Knuckles Trust/Elton John AIDS Foundation. We’d like to humbly thank everyone who’s bought the record and helped raise moneyor such a worthy cause."
