March 3, 2015 – Boxed In, the first solo endeavor from UK songwriter/producer Oli Bayston, will see their U.S. live debut when they appear at SXSW with multiple showcases scheduled (full list below).
Recently, Boxed In played their first headline dates in and around London to sold-out crowds, as well as supported La Roux and Django Django on their respective sold-out London shows.
After garnering rave reviews from around the UK, Boxed In will release their self-titled debut album in North America on March 31. Influential Los Angeles NPR affiliate KCRW says of Boxed In, “for fans of catchy 80s electro-pop anchored by a classic Motorik beat, the wait is worth it!”
Bayston got his start in indie band Keith and has since collaborated with the likes of 2 Bears, Steve Mason, Willy Mason, Lianne La Havas, Lily Allen and more. Under the Boxed In moniker, Bayston combines his two greatest musical loves, Krautrock and house music, taking inspiration from the motorik rhythms of Can and Neu!, as well as house DJs like Pépé Bradock and Theo Parrish. Boxed In is intellectual without being pretentious, wide-ranging yet accessible and will unite club and indie-rock crowds in a way so few can do.
