Bands To Watch Out For At SXSW
The Musebox SXSW 2015 Artists
EL CONJUNTO NUEVA OLA (Mexico/Los Angeles)
Hilarious but ROCKING band from Mexico City, by way of Los Angeles. ECNO perform in Mexican wrestler costumes, singing in Spanish and English. They include fantastic covers of “Take On Me” and “Dancing With Myself.” You’d be hard pressed to find a better party band. They always perform in lucha libre masks and keep their true identity a mystery (think Mexican KISS!) Can play acoustic as well as full-on electric shows.
“2014’s SXSW was set ablaze by El Conjunto Nueva Ola’s unique rhythm, humor, and distinct style.” -- (Vesper PR)

version of CSNY. Can play acoustic as well as electric shows.

Hashback Hashish (from India)
The
music of Ashish Sachan confronts you with a simplicity that is both
earnest, but also misleading - if you drill down there are details that
only a pair of headphones (and perhaps a taste of his adopted name)
can reward you with. Firmly rooted in the minimalist tradition, his
narrative offers something for electronic music fans across the
spectrum - committed geeks who respect musical history on one end, and
on the other, those who could care less about the past and just want to
lose it on a dance floor. Since 2005, Ashish has been perfecting his
craft, both as a producer, and a performer; eight years in, his musical
vision can be heard from SXSW, to Delhi, and everywhere in between;
working with producers as diverse as Da Fresh to fellow Delhi
electronica alumnus Audio Pervert. His 2012 debut album 'The Grinning,
Naked Bunch' is a must listen to if one wants to get a sense of what is
going on in India right now, masterfully merging local motifs with
relentless programming sophistication.
“Raw and spacious, and without all the modern ‘plug-in’ excesses found
in current laptop-electronica (...) delivering high energy beats that
would seem right at home in a krumping competition, coupled with
distorted and complex basslines, repetitive semi-melodic synths, and
topped with a heavy dose of high end lters. Think early Stanton Warriors
meets a minimal Ritchie Hawtins.” - NME India
