Review by Rob Grabowski

Hang on for the ride of your life as Oscar winner Denzel Washington* and Chris Pine (Star Trek) team up for the year's most electrifying action-thriller. A runaway train, transporting deadly toxic chemicals, is barreling down on Scranton, Pennsylvania and only two men can stop it: a veteran engineer (Washington), and a young conductor (Pine.) Thousands of lives hang in the balance as these ordinary heroes attempt to chase down one million tons of hurtling steel and prevent an epic disaster. Helmed by visionary director Tony Scott (Man On Fire), this story inspired by actual events delivers excitement and suspense that are...UNSTOPPABLE!

Unstoppable is an action movie that has a runaway train out of control and t what it takes to stop it. There is no hidden agenda or intricate plot just a Hollywood action flick that is loosely based on true events. There is great chemistry between Denzel Washington and Chris Pine as they take you on this fast paced rescue mission that will have you on the edge of your seat. There are a number of pleasant twists to keep you guessing how things will work out and watching it in full 1080p in the Blu-ray format is surely a treat. There were times when the film seemed a bit grainy but the definition watching this speeding train and the outlying scenery was stunning only being outdone by the lossless DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio. Hearing the train roaring past will have you wondering when the train is going to come off of the screen and into your living room. The subwoofer will be getting a workout and is sure to have your walls shaking and upsetting the neighbors. The dialogue mix was handled quite well that you didn’t have to keep turning up the volume to hear what the actors were saying and then be blasted when the action was roaring.

Unstoppable delivers a good action ride from beginning to end and the on-screen chemistry between Washington and Pine holds the film together with the fast paced action of the runaway train as a supporting character. This film is a lot of fun and worth the price of admission.
