The Dresden Dolls Returns to Chicago as a group first time in 3 years.

The Dresden Dolls has not toured as a band for almost 3 years. They have been touring, but on there own; Amanda as herself and with Evelyn Evelyn. While during this time Brian played with the likes of HUMANWINE and Nine Inch Nails.
But now they have return back to the lights as The Dresden Dolls. Amanda Palmer and Brian Viglione re-knight as The Dresden Dolls. The show took place at The Vic Theater in Chicago on Nov. 17, 2010.

I first discoved The Dresden Dolls back on March 28, 2004. When I had the chance to interview and photograph Amanda and Brian at the now closed Bottom Lounge (which has been reopen as a new club in a new location). At the time they were on tour with the band Faun Fables. Seeing The Dresden Dolls again brings back memories of a fun photo shoot before the show and a great show afterward.

After not seeing them in years. It was nice to see that the Dolls, and to see that they still believed in giving the crowd a great show. Which includes the photographers.

Usually as a photographer we are only along to shoot the first 3 songs. This was not true with this band. They let us shoot the first 5 songs. And as we exit the pit, they thanked us for shooting them. They made sure, that we had the right light to get those great images they love to give to the crowd. During the first 5 songs, they seem like the old Dresden Dolls i saw back some 6 years ago. They clowned with the crowd and each other. At one point in the show they switched
instruments between the two of them. It was fun to see Brian on Keyboards and Amanda on drums.

I am should that the Dolls will reach back to the same level they were at back some 3 years ago. By Dan Locke-Read the full story at UnRatedMagazine.com
