Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006)
Twentieth Century Fox
Theatrical Release Date: March 31, 2006(USA)
Director: Carlos Saldanha
Review by Dan Hansen
This is a must see for kids of all ages, yes even 45 year old kids. This feature is a little darker yet there are laughs a plenty and drama up the wazoo (there I said it, wazoo). The first one was cute even though you had the bad Saber Tooth Tigers. This one they face not only fears but also more menacing creatures, oh yeah, and vultures. If you want to learn more about vultures go to “Vultures Nature's Noble Caretakers” at http://www.vultures.homestead.com/ - I believe in education.
Manny (Ray Romano), Diego (Denis Leary) and Sid (John Leguizamo) return in this sequel to the hit Ice Age. Now the Ice Age is coming to an end and global warming is melting their world. They discover that their valley will soon be under miles of water, so they must pull together and get everyone to safety. Also Manny is faced with the knowledge that he is the last mammoth until he finds another of his kind, Ellie (Queen Latifah), who doesn’t believe she is a mammoth until he reminds her.
