Mariah Carey: The Emancipation of Mimi

The comeback album from Mariah Carey boasts the hit single, "We Belong Together," from her highly anticipated "The Emancipation Of Mimi" album. "We Belong Together," set the all-time one-week Billboard Hot 100 audience record, with more than 190 million radio listeners hearing the song last week. To her credit, she also topped the charts at number one on the Billboard 200 for eight weeks. "The Emancipation of Mimi" is being lauded as the "return of the voice" and rightfully so! Since Mariah's last album "Charmbracelet," you might remember her collaborating with Jadakiss on his hit, "U Make Me Wanna". However, that teasing of the ears didn't at all prepare us for "The Emancipation of Mimi". This album has chart-topping production from Jermaine Dupri on four songs. He has had an impressive track record himself with such artists as Usher and Anthony Hamilton. There are also guest appearances by Twista, Nelly and Snoop as well as production from the Neptunes. Mariah contributed to co-producing and co-writing each of the 14 tracks. Impressive! The standout tracks for me on Mimi's most recent project are… well all of them!

But these are my standout tracks:

1 It's Like That
Okay… Mariah starts The Emancipation with this basement party track! I love it. If you're on the floor, you're gonna dance and if you're sitting, you're nodding your head!

2 We Belong Together
"We Belong Together" just tugs at your heartstrings! 3 Shake It Off
Okay the truth is…I almost tore my car up when I first heard this track! LOL. This is a hot track! Love it!

4 Mine Again
Is this the "return of the voice" or what?

6 Stay The Night
Classic Mariah. She didn't stray too far away from her nostalgic sound on this one!

8 One And Only featuring Twista
This track is absolutely a hit! This is one of the best collaborations I've heard in a while! Mariah's vocals are hott and Twista rides this beat hard! And the Chi-town collabo just does it for me!

9 Circles
This song is on fire. The end.

10 Your Girl
I wanna sing this song to somebody?! These lyrics are for the grown and sexy!

11 I Wish You Knew
Again classic Mariah!

#13 Joy Ride
Go for the Joy Ride!

In total Mariah has sold more than 150 million albums worldwide, making her the top-selling female artist in history. With the amount of hard work that she has put into this project its no wonder her CD has done as well as it has. This is the comeback album of the year!
