Leave it to Joan Jett to put together this slamming collaboration of Christmas favorites in pure punk-rock style. As owner of Blackheart Records, Joan includes a holiday mix of favorites performed by her and other bands signed to her label. San Antonio based Girl in Coma shoots out two classics; the speed-spinning I'll Be Home for Christmas and lead singer Nina Diaz pours out a voluptuous version of Blue Christmas. Thumbs-up to The Dollyrots for the rebellious and fun-loving version of Santa Baby. Then check out the duet with Blackheart's drummer Thommy Price and songstress Nefertiti Jones as they twist it out in Winter Wonderland. Light up your fireplace as Kenny Laguna, producer, musician, and co-owner of Blackheart Records sings the snappy pop-gem Home for Christmas. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts belt out Little Drummer Boy and finally the must hear Silent Night will have some surprises in this newly recorded version. Other bands that are featured on this holiday album are The Cute Lepers and The Vacancies.
I am sure Santa will approve of these timeless classics and also included a few original holiday tunes on A Blackheart Christmas. So as you listen to these songs crank up the volume, deck the halls, trim the tree, and be good for goodness sake!
