In Hinduism, the word "Dharma" refers to a core set of fundamental principles that exist beyond all intellectual argument. To talk the "Dharma" means to speak of a truth that remains accurate in both logical and emotional debates. Although we live in a logical world ruled by numbers and statistics there are still some emotional laws that go beyond the naked eye. We are told to go to college, get degrees, and then enter the workforce to be a productive member of society; but if the economy is bad and no jobs are available, than all you're left with is debt that can't be paid back, which ends up hurting society. On the other hand, there are some people who forgo college altogether to become just as (or more) successful than their collegiate contemporaries. This quixotic paradigm repeats itself in rich people who hate their lives, and poor people who wake up happy to be alive. All three situations are seemingly paradoxical because they lack logic, so what happens when the brain can't figure things out? We turn to our heart for answers, and on his most recent album, The Magnificent Adventures of Heartache (and other frightening tales), Jason Reeves gives us a spoonful of captivating melodies to help the truth go down easier.
