Lyle Lovett and his Large Band: That’s Right; Don’t Mess with Texan Lyle Lovett!

If there is one artist that could own Ravinia, it has to be smooth-singer Lyle Lovett. For years, Lyle has been one of the best selling artists to fill the pavilion and lawn at the outdoor venue just north of Chicago. Lyle had the night in his hands. With the unbelievable talents of his Large Band, his smirky jokes that cracked up the crowd, and his talented back-up singers, what could go wrong? Nothing! Lyle could possibly be placed on the top ten list as one of the best American singer- songwriters around. His songs are in the groove of new country, folk, blues, and pop. A few songs are so fun that plenty of fans got out of their seats to dance and sing the words to pop songs, San AntonioGirl and That's Right (You're Not From Texas). Then Lyle changed direction with popular song In My Own Mind about a person that could be searching and finding peace from daily life stress. Another crowd favorite is If I Had a Boat; the crowd always screams with delight when he sings his famous lyrics "Kiss my ass, I bought a boat, I'mgoing out to sea." Lyle also performed the jazzy hit My Baby Don't Tolerate off his smash CD with the same title and told Unrated Magazine that he is currently working on a new CD.

Lyle Lovett's music is like a good infection that keeps clinging on to you as his songs really hit home with intelligent lyrics dealing about love, wounded relationships, and life issues. Check out Lyle Lovett on tour now and you will find yourself having Nothing Buta Good Ride!
