With a surprising win and the guts to take a chance, Chicagoland's own Jury of Fears can simply say 2017 has been a phenomenal first year.

With the recent release of their heavy hitting song "Deadbeat" and a determination to bring metal back to the masses, the guys of Jury of Fears had no idea when entering into a competition would turn out to be.

Qrock 100 7 located in the Southland of Illinois held a contest for local Chicago bands to have the best opporunity to open for Michigan's own Pop Evil and Ded on November 21st at The Forge in Joliet.   The amount of talent entered into this contest was beyond unbelievable.   Fans could chose from Bullet to the heart, Blacklist Regulars, Black Bear Rodeo, Archilles etc....

This was a major leap of faith for Jury of Fears to get over.  Considering the guys have only been playing together for a total of 6 months.  Plus, with 3 shows truly under their belts, one could think this was going to be a great experience.

Jury of Fears
Yet at 5 pm on Tuesday November 14th, QRock made the fateful annoucement....  Jury of Fears won!  Wtf?!

An astounding congratulations was made to Jury of Fears.  A lot of happiness and tears of joys happened....

The night of November 21st for sure can be sealed up as a memory preserved for years to come.  I recall seeing Justin Halbert ( lead singer), Shea Keating (lead guitar), Mike Plosion ( bass) and Stefan Krupiarz (drums) all being on stage an hour before the show.  I noticed a sense of excitement and maybe a little tension.

For fuck's sake this was major!  Opening for 2 national touring bands is something only a few can dream about and some it actual happens.  I could not think of a better band for this to happen to.  The pure determination and the consent strive to be better is always there.

And when the audience came in to the stage, game fucking on bitches.  I witness the delightful faces of Jury of Fears seeing the huge crowd there to rock with them specfically.   What a great moment!

The crowd saw a band that is metal to the core with emotional lyrics, astounding guitar riffs, heavy bass lines and thrilling drums.  Once Justin announced the next song was #Deadbeat, I took a look around and people were singing along!  I could tell Jury of Fears was eating it up and truly enjoying their moment.

I personally have to say the entire night was just perfect beyond what was expected.  Jury of Fears was just so on I was smiling and thrashing at the same time.   Their cover of the classic hit "Paint it Black" sent many into a frenzy.
When all is said and done, Jury of Fears sets the mark on what you can achieve.  With talent, the right attitude and willing to take risks, Jury of Fears is not going down without a fight!

Congratulations guys!
