Australian Dark Pop Girl Duo Love Like Hate Release Unnoticed EP

Australian Dark Pop Girl Duo

“Electric Ships” :: MP3
Returning home from a 2014 European tour, with an exclusive signing to independent music giant Rough Trade Publishing (Violent Femmes, Le Tigre), Love Like Hate headlined the 2014 sold out London Vegan Beer Festival and played shows across Europe (including UK, Berlin and Paris) with a triumphant UK live return set for 2015.

Proudly independent, Australian based duo Love Like Hate are Heather Cheketri and Sonja Ter Horst, a dark pop outfit who blend post punk electric guitar with free form piano melodies, favouring the densely layered ‘dark pop’ essence that has since become their signature sound.
Releasing two EP’s Rabbit Hole (2012) & now latest release Unnoticed (2014) [produced by Lachlan Mitchell | The Jezabels], both recordings have received critical acclaim including JJJ Unearthed pick up, charting in the yearly 4zzz Hot 100 (2013 and 2015), Best New Release by Independent Music News UK (2014), 8 top 20 USA independent releases CMJ (2015), three single releases aired on ABC Rage (2012, 2013, 2014), as well as charting in Australian and USA independent music charts.
Over the last three years, Love Like Hate have toured across Australia and have been joined with local and international acts including The Red Paintings, The Mercy Kills, Tully on Tully and have also been invited to play on local and international festivals including Brisbane Pride Day, GCC Youth Week Festival (main event), London Vegan Beer Festival and part of the Brisbane Arts Festival.
With two stunning releases, major independent industry interest and a national and international underground following, Love Like Hate are starting to make a name for themselves as “there is a beautifully serrated edge to the way the band approach pop” [Neil Evans | Tone Deaf].
