SWEDISH INDIE POP GIRL DUO
THE MAGNETTES
ANNOUNCE SXSW SHOWS
The Magnettes, formed by Recka Digervall and Sanna Kalla from Pajala, Sweden, was founded as a way of rebelling against the northern silence by signing - loudly and heartfelt - about the things you can't really talk about.
Hailed for their blend of punk, disco and twin-vocal pop melancholy, they released their debut single "Paper Cut" in 2012, and began performing in Swedish clubs and festivals, followed by showcases at Nordic Week (Murmansk, Russia), QStock (Oulo, Finland) and New Music Seminar (New York, USA). In 2014, they signed development deals with BD Pop, DO Music and Musichelp and released their new single - fast-paced car crash anthem "Who We Are."
In 2015, The Magnettes are set to release their debut album and will appear as the main subjects in Hans-Erik Therus' documentary Pajala State of Mind, set to air on Swedish National Television in April 2015. Additionally, they will be making their SXSW debut this March, check for dates below!
